Harry S. Williston
1931 – 2021
Harry Stymiest Williston, husband of Velma Williston of Bay du Vin, passed away at his residence on November 28, 2021, at the age of 90.
Born in Bay du Vin on September 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Phineas and Gertrude (Carroll) Williston. He was a Fisherman all his life, and attended St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. He was a member of the Woodlot Association and the Harbour Authority in Bay du Vin.
Harry is survived by his wife Velma (Murdock) Williston; three sons: Haley (Janice) of Bay du Vin, Peter of Vancouver, BC, and Harry Jr. of Toronto, ON; two grandchildren: Hannah of Strathadam, and Alexander (Robin) of New Zealand; one sister, Phyllis Carroll (Robert) of Bathurst; and one brother, David Williston (Catherine) of Bay du Vin; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Margaret Kingston; and six brothers: Haley, Eric, John, Paul, Herbie, and Ian Williston.
A Public visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 1-2 PM, with funeral service to follow at 2 PM, with The Reverend Thomas Nesbitt officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery.
