ROSENBERG, Hailey – Peacefully on December 22, 2021 and surrounded by loved ones, Hailey Rosenberg’s courageous battle came to an end. Like her father Allan, Hailey was a fighter to the end of her 46 short years and, and just like him, rarely betrayed the severity of her condition. Her battle was both an inspiration and a model of dignity to all who knew her. Hailey was a devoted daughter to her mother Linda, and they shared a special connection, growing even closer in her final years. Though they took turns caring for one another, above all else, Linda stopped at nothing to protect her. Hailey took such pride in her role as Auntie Hailey, devoted to her nieces and nephews.
Hailey was the resident expert with respect to all things crafty, which included all projects related to knitting, sewing, painting and cross stitching. She could always be counted upon to make the best Zaida pillows and duvets, create the most beautiful jewelry boxes, paint the best pictures of the London cityscape, or create a custom dollhouse. She gave the best hugs to those she loved.
Hailey will be missed dearly by her partner of over twenty years, Walter Kaiser, her mother, Linda Rosenberg, sisters and brothers-in-law Jill and Dan Anzarut, Nicole Rosenberg and Gord Shaffer, Ursula Kaiser-Vourvoulis and Kenn von Roenn, Angelika and Alistair Buchan, Martin and Patricia Kaiser, nieces and nephews Lauren and Sam Shaffer and Ben and Laila Anzarut as well as her many aunts, uncles and cousins and her best friend Jack. Hailey was predeceased by her father Allan who greeted her with open arms.
Those who knew Hailey well will recall her love of music, which started at an early age crossing many genres including rock and heavy metal, with a very special place for boy bands and of course, Bon Jovi. But as with many things, Hailey went out with a bang, with a final reunion of the world famous group `The Rosenberg Beauties and Hailey’ and their command return performance on her last few nights at Princess Margaret.
A special thanks to all of the teams that worked with Hailey these last 2 years at Mount Sinai and The Princess Margaret Hospitals, and in particular Drs. Burkes and Bedard and their teams and all of the doctors and nurses in the PMH palliative care unit who have been so incredible to both Hailey and the family in the final days of her journey.
To honour Hailey’s memory, we would encourage you to consider a donation to the Princess Margaret Foundation – Palliative Care Unit (416) 946-6560. Hailey would want us to remind you to make the time to hug someone who is close to you and tell them that you love them because life is far too short not to.
