Marilyn Alward, 85, of
Sackville, passed away at her residence on Friday, July 9,
2021.
Born in Campbellton, she was the
daughter of the late James and Thelma « Tilley » (Pratt)
Downs.
Marilyn was a graduate of the
Campbellton High School and a graduate of MHTS Class of 1958 and
throughout her career, she nursed at The Moncton Hospital, Oromocto
Public Hospital, Kingston General Hospital, Department of Veterans
Affairs-VA Hospital in Edmonton and the VON in Moncton and Sackville.
She was an adherent to First Baptist Church Moncton and was a member
of Sir Charles G.D. Roberts Chapter of the IODE and Probus Club
« Ladies » Moncton, NB.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by
her daughter, Patricia Jane (Glenn) of Turner Valley, Alberta; son,
Alexander John (Melissa) of Campbellton; special grandmother to Lauren
and Jonathan Ross.
In addition to her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn H. Alward (2019) and an infant
son, Peter James Alward (1962).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 7:00 to
9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Marilyn’s life
will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 16,
2021 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be in Elmwood
Cemetery.
