The family of MARY D GRAHAM is saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
Mary is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ken, and their four children: Kathy (Steve) Thorlakson, Janet (Ken) Knox, Michael (Stephen) Graham and Richard (Sharon) Graham. She was also blessed with four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Mary was born in Exeter, Ontario, daughter of Fern and Mac McKinnon. Over the course of her 93 years, Mary cherished the many friends she made along the way, starting with her early years as a child in Paris, Ontario. Mary graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, and then worked at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, where she met a gentle veterinarian student who convinced her to spend the rest of her life with him.
Mary braved a move west to Claresholm, where they both worked hard setting up the veterinary practice. The four children along the way kept her that much more busy. Mary loved living in Claresholm. She was a small town gal and immersed herself in the small town atmosphere of Claresholm. Over the course of their 20 years there, she gathered more friends through the Reading Club, church and Rotary Club. The family moved to Lethbridge in 1969, which became home for the rest of her life. Mary was always busy with church functions at First United, square dancing, keeping four children in check and volunteering for Meals on Wheels for nearly 40 years.
Travel was a big part of their lives and they really did see the world.
A private Family Service will be held at the family home with Reverend Glenda Wert officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in Archmount Cemetery.
As Mom always said towards the end, “My working days are over and I rest in the loving arms of God. »
