Born October 1, 1923 in North Vancouver B.C Glady was predeceased by her loving husband Bruce and her son George.
She was survived by her daughter Amy (Rick), Jack ( Wendy) grandchildren Shala ( Todd) , Debbie and Derek, Great Grandson Riley, brother-in-law Ted Lloyd, sisters-in-law Margret Paterson, Florence Kennedy and many nieces and nephews.
Glady was predeceased by her five sisters and five brothers. She was the last of the children of Lang Bay pioneers Arthur and Amy Kennedy. After graduating from high school Gladys went on to U.B.C and then to St. Paul’s School of Nursing. After graduating in 1945 she came to Powell River to nurse. She met Bruce who had just returned from the war serving four years with the Air Force . They married in 1947.
By her request there will be no service. Gladys ashes will join Bruce at Palm Beach where they and their family spent many enjoyable summers at their cottage.
The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen ECU for the love and compassion they showed towards Gladys the last three years of her life. Also a special thanks to Dr. McDonald.
