HARTLEY, Mary Edith “Gladys»
Gladys, age 92, peacefully passed away with family by her side on June 29th, 2021. She was born April 28th, 1929 to the late Robert and Eva (McMullen) Whittle in Toronto.
Gladys married Stanley Hartley in June 1948 , who preceded her in death. Cherished mother of Donna-Lee Coulas, Scott Hartley, Stephen Hartley and his wife Janet. Loving Grandmother of Tarin Lee DeVoursney and her husband Mike, Cole Hartley and Bridgette Hartley. Dear sister to the late William (Bill) Whittle and surviving sister-in-law Velma Whittle. She will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
Gladys was affectionately referred to as «Mooter» and a Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan to the end. Over the years, she knit hundreds of Afghan blankets and dish clothes, which now represent her love in many homes.
She was one of the original residents of Foxboro Green for over 25 years and most recently The Westhill Retirement Residence.
She loved her sweets and King Crab legs whenever the opportunity arose, as well as enjoyed listening to country music.
Most of all, she loved her family. Her bright smile and zest for life will be profoundly missed.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
