PRATAVIERA, Giovanni –
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 12, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Maria Prataviera (nee Morson). Loving father of Graziano and his wife Sandra, Laura, Enio and his wife Joanna. Proud Nonno of Andrew, Jessica, Justin, Natalie, Alessandro and Giorgio.
At a very early age after growing up in the south of France, and returning back to Italy, Giovanni and his siblings lost their father suddenly due to a simple working injury which developed into tetanus. Giovanni the eldest son, immigrated to Canada in 1951 being only 18 years old, and laying brick by brick he created the opportunity to bring his brother Narciso here in 1953. As brothers they sponsored their mother Maria, and brother Emilio, and sister Carissima to reunite the entire family in Toronto Canada which made them all very happy. Giovanni retuned to Italy in 1960 to find his love and marry Maria. Upon their return to Canada, they lived happily and were very proud to have three children who they loved dearly. We thank him dearly for all his sacrifices and the enduring love he had for his family. We remember his strong spirit, relentless determination and passion for life. We have so many fond and joyful memories to reflect on during this difficult time of loss and would appreciate everyone sharing those as a celebration of how we remember him.
