Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Gerhard Paul Appelt on January 28th, 2021 at the age of 90 in Edson, Alberta.
Gerhard was born on February 14th, 1930 in Nennhausen, Germany to Stanislaus and Anna, he was the second oldest of 5 siblings: Erick, Irene, Hilda, Elisabeth and Charlotte of Germany.
Gerhard moved to Edson in 1954 with his wife Adele where he worked as a Carpenter. He retired in 1986, giving him time to enjoy the things that he loved the most: family, friends, fishing, hunting, camping and his garden.
Gerhard is survived by his Loving wife Adele of Edson, his two sons Garry (Joanne) of Edmonton and David (Brenda) of Edson. Gerhard had 4 grandsons: Corey (Amanda) of Edson, Andrew (Jodi) of Edson, Benjamin (Alyssa) of Edmonton and Eric (Devyn) of Edmonton. He also left 7 great grandchildren to mourn.
Gerhard was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
A private family service will be held at the Foothills Memorial Chapel. Special thanks to Dr. Kruger and Nurses Barb, Katie and Debbie for the care and compassion that they showed to dad and his family.
