Obituary of Gerald Benoit
BENOIT, Gerald “Gerry” Raymond –
A resident of Chatham, Gerry Benoit passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the age of 71.
Gerry was the son of the late Raymond and Edna (nee Legue) Benoit.
Dear brother to Janet and her husband Paul Bedard.
He had two children, Jeff Benoit (of Waterloo) and Tricia (Darren) Boersema (of Chatham), two grandchildren Mackenzie (Alicia) and Kennedy (of Chatham). He also had one great-grandchild, Ryan Boersema.
He will be sadly missed by many friends, especially Mike Pettigrew, Don Ricica and John Compton.
Gerry loved sports of all kinds, especially golf. His favourite teams were the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played all through the Chatham Minor hockey and baseball system, before going on to play lob ball for many years. Gerry worked at AandP for 43 years.
At Gerry’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
Donations made in memory of Gerry to St. Andrew’s Residence (Meals on Wheels Chatham-Kent) would be appreciated.
