Peacefully at Palmerston & District Hospital in Palmerston on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in her 87th year. Predeceased by husband George Wilson. Much loved sister of Sharon and her husband Bill Hurdman of Ottawa, David White of Priceville and sister in law to Marie Wilson and Bernice Lovering. Georgina is greatly missed by nieces and nephews Kelly, Kim (Troy), Diana Paul) and Eddy(Karen). Predeceased by brother Tom, step-daughter Cindy and sister-in-law Lynn.
Daughter of the late Garnet and Doris. Born January 22, 1935 in Coldwater, Ontario, Georgina spent her childhood at the Big Chute Marine Railway on the Trent-Severn waterway. The family moved to St. Thomas when Wes joined the RCAF in 1941. After he was posted overseas, Georgina and her mother came to live with her grandfather Baxter in Muskoka. Georgina had two lifelong loves, music and animals, especially horses. She was awarded the Town of Midland music scholarship in 1948. She attended Flesherton High School for two years and graduated from the Orillia District Collegiate in 1952 where she was awarded the General Proficiency award. Georgina served as a Fighter Control Operator in the RCAF for 3 years. As a civilian life she worked for Ontario Hydro for several years and continued a lengthy business career. Married in February of 1958 to Alan Lovering, the couple resided in Cannington and Fenelon Falls, Ontario. In 1974 a dream came true, when her Purebred Arabian gelding Phineas (Buster) won the Western Pleasure Championship for Eastern Canada. Divorced, Georgina married the late George Wilson in 1978 and they moved to Jackson’s Point.
