After a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving wife by his side, Gary Rudolf Telzer passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Bluewater Health – Palliative Care at the age of 67. Cherished husband and best friend of Lou (Louella). Loved brother of Andy (Rachel). Dearly remembered by his sister-in-law Anne Michaels of Victoria, B.C. Treasured uncle of Marisa and Vanessa Telzer, Connie (Michael) Smith of Delaware, USA, and Chad Young (Nichol). Deeply missed by his best family friend Georgina Chute. Predeceased by his parents Sigi (2003) and Helga (2017), his sister-in-law Lynette Smith (2014), and his nephew David Young (2018). Gary was a proud member of Local 663 for 49 years. He was well known for his great sense of humor and always being up for an adventure. Gary will be missed by his golf buddies and many friends from Jamaica Bay, Fort Myers, Florida. The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. O’Sullivan for his years of care and compassion for Gary. A special thank you to staff at Bluewater Health – Palliative Care for their empathy and kindness during a difficult time. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Gary’s wishes, family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, those who wish to attend must each RSVP with a time to attend the visitation: signup.com/go/VSFAWMp.
