Obituary of Fred Albert Goodwin
Age 84, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully in the Abbie J. Lane Memorial, QEII Hospital on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Born in Upper Granville, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Stella (Moorehouse) Goodwin.
Fred worked as a chef for various places over this working career but spent almost 30 years with VIA Rail. He loved his gardens, watching the birds and his home. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed sitting down with a good Louis L’Amour book.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Emenau); daughter, Jo-Anne (Steven) Goodwin-Bell; Gail’s children, Scott Todd, Shelley (Shawn) McWilliams and Cynthia Todd; five step-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Elliott; sister-in-law, Donna Goodwin.
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his first wife, Robbie (McDonald) and his brother, Darrell Goodwin.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held at a later date.
