Frank Thomas Moore
July 24, 1931 – March 30, 2021
Frank Thomas Moore MStJ, OStJ age 89 of Dartmouth passed away March 30, 2021. Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years Marjorie and son Stuart (Cole Harbour). Born in Trois- Rivieres, Que and raised in Springhill, he was the son of the late John and Bessie (Mackinnon) Moore. From high school, he joined MT&T as a summer student becoming a fulltime employee for the next 39 and ½ years. On loan to the federal government, he worked on the Dew Line in Gander NF and Beaver Bank NS for 2 years.
Frank was a member of the Boy Scouts growing up and would go on to become a Scouting leader for many years. He was also involved with St John Ambulance as an instructor eventually qualifying as the province’s only national level instructor. For this work, he was made a Serving Brother in 1982 in the Order of St John of Jerusalem and was later promoted to Officer (1992)within the Order. He would canvas for several charities every year until finally hanging up his hat at age 80 to officially retire.
Summer vacations were spent at the shore in East Linden and retirement gave him more time for the cottage and to time to travel wherever the tour bus and or Cruise ship was heading. Besides his wife and son, he is survived by siblings in Quebec and New Brunswick and was predeceased his parents. Cremation has taken place with a grave side service to follow at a future date.
