JETTEN, Franciscus “Frank” – Passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, born in 1928 in Overasselt, The Netherlands. Frank left us in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Truus “Gertrude” Jetten for 66 years and father of six children. Educated in the Netherlands at Agriculture College and immigrated to Canada with his brother Gerard in 1951. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since moving to the Janetville area in 1958 where he farmed for several decades south of Lindsay on Golf Course Road. He also worked and retired from GM in Oshawa in 1983 when he became a long-time member of the Lindsay Senior’s Club enjoying many afternoons playing euchre.
Frank was incredibly proud of his children, Anthony (Sandra), Henry (Valerie), Kathleen (John Potts), Marco (Jayne), Bernita (Murray Blair) daughter-in-law, Liz Jetten, predeceased by his son Gary (1998) and brothers Jan and Edward, sister-in-law’s Annie, Denise and Hannah. Proud Opa of Jennifer (Derek), Amy (Chris), Christopher, Julie (Aaron), Martin (Amanda), Cassandra (Peter), Jaimelee (Craig), Michael (Melena), Monica, Trevor (Grace), Nathan, Laura, Curtis and Trudy. Remembered lovingly by his Great Grandchildren: Jack, Alexa, Ava, Taylor, Alyssa, Scarlett, Audrey, and Rosaleen. Beloved by his brothers in Canada, Gerard and Tony, sister-in-law Anneke, and sisters and brother-in-law in the Netherlands, Ria and Els (Peter), sister-in-law’s Nelly and Corry. His wife’s family, the Duyghuisen’s and many, many nieces and nephews in both Canada and The Netherlands.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 40 Russell Street East, Lindsay on Friday, August 6th at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church or Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences can be made at Stoddart Funeral Home.
