Evelyn Green, beloved wife and mother of Wawota, Saskatchewan, passed away at Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

Evelyn Lorraine Green passed away peacefully at Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, Saskatchewan, on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was born on February 20, 1934 at her parents’, John and Myrtle (Cudmore) Taylor’s home at Service, Saskatchewan. She impacted so many lives wherever she went; she leaves a legacy that we will strive to follow.
Evelyn attended school at Manor where she completed Grades 9-11, then was a supervising teacher at Bethany School near Walpole. After one year, she attended Luther College to complete her Grade 12, then went to Normal School in Winnipeg. She then taught for four years prior to marrying Allan Green in 1958.
As a wife and mother, her days were filled with supporting the farm and caring for her family. In Evelyn’s “can-do” way, she went about life unselfishly. Her deep personal faith permeated every aspect of her life and showed in many practical ways. She was one of the founding members of the Wawota Thrift Shop, was instrumental in organizing shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse, and supported the ongoing efforts of Little Dresses that went to hundreds of children around the world. Because international compassion was so important to her, she sponsored multiple children globally and had a special heart for water and sanitation projects.
Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Allan, of 52 years and left to mourn by her children Michael Green (Wawota), Patricia Freeman of Brantford, ON; Roger (Kathy) Green of Winnipeg, MB; and Rebecca (Brad) Saunders of Waterloo, ON, as well as grandchildren James (Tricia) Freeman of Woodstock, ON; Tyler (Kiana) Freeman of Kitchener, ON; Collin and Duncan Green of Winnipeg. Great grandchildren included Rhen and Callum Freeman of Woodstock, ON. Family was Evelyn’s pride and joy! She is also survived by brothers Keith (Joan) Taylor and Martin (Betty) Taylor as well as sister Joyce (Derrell) Rodine as well as sister-in-law Marjory (Dan – deceased) Lothian and brother-in-law Ed (Edith) Stephens.
Predeceased by family Helen (Roy) Caswell, Don (Lyla) Taylor, Glenn (Dolores) Taylor, and Allan’s family Merton (Madeline) Bryant and Phyllis Stephens.
