Ernest C. Hadley was a writer who loved teaching writing and writers. Ernie fulfilled a dream by moving to Lunenburg, NS in 2018, with his wife Annie Mullins and an assortment of cats and a dog, and opening Nevermore Press. Ernie was the loving father of Jasmine, Luke and his partner Stephanie, and Mairead and her partner Vivek. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Jennifer Brazenall and three nieces. Prior to coming to Canada, Ernie made his home in Truro, MA and other parts of New England.
Ernie spent over thirty years as a civil rights lawyer and was the author of more than a dozen books in the field of employment discrimination law. He was a former news reporter and editor, the founding director of the Federal Law Training Group, and the first Commissioner of the Barnstable County Human Rights Commission. He received a MFA degree in fiction writing at the Vermont College of Fine Arts, as well as being a graduate of Bates College and Antioch School of Law.
Ernie loved the theater, watching baseball and hockey, and driving his 1973 Karmann Ghia.
