Ermenegilda « Gilda » Del Fabbro
July 22, 1922-December 7, 2021
On December 7, 2021 Gilda Del Fabbro passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years.
Gilda, beloved wife of the late Madio Del Fabbro; much loved mother of Renato (Dawn) and Roberto (Sandra); cherished Nonna of Nolan (Anya), Vanessa (Paul), Ileana (Oliver), Erin (Marty), Darcy (Danielle), Heather (Chris), Christopher, Dan (Karen) and Tom (Jayne); bisnonna of Amalea, Lorenzo, Elio, Magnus, Camryn, Sarah, Anna, Payton, Nola, Olivia, Julia and Rae; sister, Rosina Brunello.
Gilda was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Madio; her daughter, Louisa; her parents, Guerino and Regina; sister, Louisa; and brothers, Ciro and Romeo.
Gilda married her loving husband on January 17, 1948 in Italy, and shortly thereafter emigrated to Canada, first residing in Nordegg until 1955, and then to their final home in Edmonton.
Gilda lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, nonna, and bisnonna. She was a wonderful cook, liked to sew and garden, but took the most pride in being a wife and mother and running the family home. She was an exceptionally hard worker and her positivity was appreciated by all. She will be truly missed.

Prayers Friday, December 17, 2021 at 8 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10 a.m., both at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709-111 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Per the Restriction Exemption Program, you must provide proof of vaccinations (QR code with valid ID for those 18 years and older), or proof of a negative rapid COVID test taken within 72 hours of entry, or an original medical exemption letter.
Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gilda’s honour to Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 1S5.
