It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Erica Hughes announces her peaceful passing at Marshall Gowland Manor on Monday September 21, 2021 at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Ted for 46 years. Treasured mother to David (Jennifer) and Sandra. Will be dearly missed by her sister Cheryl. Predeceased by her parents Eric and Frances Roud (nee Minogue) , her in-laws Arthur and Ivy Hughes and her precious dog Casey. Erica worked for Statistics Canada for many years and most recently Walmart. She loved Animals, especially horses. She enjoyed sewing and was always listening to music, and especially loved her “oldies”. A special thank you to the staff at Sumac Lodge and Marshall Gowland Manor for their exceptional care and compassion. Erica will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Monday September 27th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A private service will be held with interment at Resurrection cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
