Passed away on June 13, 2021 at the age of 94 following a very brief illness. Married to James Hohenadel (2014) for 64 years. During that time, they raised a large and loving family, including Kathy (Bob, deceased 2021), Stephen (Barbara), Peter (Kathryn), Bob (Joanne), Luke (Mary Ann), Martha (Pam) and Chris (Paola) plus 19 grandchildren – Jeff, Matt, Andrew, Brendan, Sara, Michael, Anna, Katie, Karin, Kristin, David, Rachel, Claire, Meaghan, Allison, Gillian, Ben, Jessica, Julia and ten great grandchildren – Ben, Nicholas, Alice, Charlotte, Declan, Joey, Georgia, Simon, Jack and Russell. Emma was so proud to be the matriarch of such a large and close-knit clan.
Emma and Jim made a great team, unfailingly generous and supportive of all who crossed their path. Emma made the most of her seven years without Jim, staying in close contact with her family. A natural extrovert, Emma made many friends during her stays at Guelph Lake Commons and Riverside Glen. She will be missed by all who will remember her warmth, sociability and good humour. She always showed concern for others, reaching out to ensure her many friends and extended family were in good health and spirits.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday June 17, 2021 at Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate at 10:30 am. The mass will have limited capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions. Following the mass, there will be a private burial at Marymount Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home 519-821-5077 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
