Elsie Jeanette Walter (Nee Hollaway)
March 04, 1925 – October 17, 2021
On Sunday, October 17 we said goodbye to our beautiful Momma, Elsie Walter, who went on to join her husband Bill Walter, son Douglas, Gr- Grandson Clayton and her best friends Vi Gray and Arlene McCrann.
Remaining to honor her life and her love, and many wonderful memories are her daughters Donna Lynne and Lanny Scramstad, Wendy and Ken Harris and Sharon and Murray Donchi. Grandchildren Shelly and Jordy, Jason, Rob and Natasha, Chris and Amanda, and Amanda and Trevor, Kalaya, and Ben and Jolene. Great Grands: Grace, Andrew, Taylor, Cole, Kaydence and Avary, as well as many loving nieces and nephews including Marilyn Green and Fred McCrann.
Mom was a happy go lucky lady who loved to travel, socialize, cook, play cards, and pretty much go along with whatever scheme Dad cooked up.
She was well known for her cooking and baking and feeding anyone who walked through her doors. No one left hungry, and all were welcome to stop by for coffee or a meal.
Mom had a way of making everyone feel like they were part of her family and was always there for anyone in need or a listening heart, no judgment. She saw the good in everyone.
Mom and Dad spent many wonderful years in Ellerslie, Edmonton farming, then moved to McLure in 1969 where they met so many wonderful people, all are together again now.
When you think of Mom, think of her with a smile and a great memory.
We wish to give many thanks to her care team at Pine Grove Care Centre who took such great care of Mom for the past 6 years, and genuinely cared for her.
Mom’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 13 at the Barriere Legion Branch #242 in the lower level at 1:00 p.m.
Please bring your best memories, no flowers. Mom loved flowers, so if you choose, please plant carnations for her in the spring.
Donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Mental Health and Addictions Society.
