Obituary of Ellen Elizabeth Steenwyk
Peacefully entered into rest with family by her side at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday April 29th, 2021. Ellen (Lozo) “Miss Ellie” Steenwyk of Brockville aged 83 years. Beloved wife to the late Albert “Ollie” Steenwyk. Loving mother of Jennie Wong (Hank) of Ottawa, Fred Steenwyk (Denise) of Athens, Debbie MacDonald (Rick), Bonnie Steenwyk (Michel Jensen) and Mary Ellen Steenwyk (Scott Perkins) all of Brockville. Cherished grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Doug Lozo (Mary) and sister-in-law of Kathy Steenwyk and the late Peter (Tryne), Klaas (Maxine) and Leo Steenwyk. Daughter of the late Fred and Grace (Dalgliesh) Lozo. Also missed by sons-in-law Chris Throop and Harm VanderWeide, like a son Gary Rusland (Oxana) and many nieces and nephews.
In compliance with current Health and Public Safety Directives, a Private Family Celebration of Ellen’s Life will be held. Interment will take place at Manhard Cemetery. In memory of Ellen, donations to the Manhard United Church or the Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
