Ellen Rose Loewen Grayson Sunday January 31st 2021 avis de deces

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ellen Rose Loewen (nee Grayson) of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 69 years. Ellen was born on January 24, 1952 in Calgary, Alberta, to Margaret and Robert Grayson. Ellen grew up in Red Deer and Innisfail and took her schooling in Red Deer. She married her first husband and had twin boys, Jim and Darrel, in 1970 and then a daughter, Shauna, in 1972. Ellen lived all over Central Alberta, Grande Prairie, Calgary and Whitehorse; and when she retired, she moved back to Red Deer. She worked in several areas through the years, and went back to school in 1990, to get her Rehabilitation Diploma. Ellen then decided to upgrade to a Degree and eventually received her Master’s. She worked her last years for AADAC in Calgary, until her retirement. Another big part of her life was the A.A. Community. She had thirty-three and a half years of sobriety, with many friends of Bill W.; who helped her through her journey, and whom she helped as well. Ellen married Frank Loewen on June 30, 1995. They had the opportunity to buy a Casa in Mexico, and spent as much time there as possible, as that was definitely their happy place. She loved spending time with her family and friends the most – above anything else. She enjoyed going for walks, camping, travelling, shopping in the Thrift Stores and swimming, and in the last couple of years, she also enjoyed kayaking. We are extremely proud of all that she accomplished in her lifetime. She was extremely intelligent and could accomplish anything she put her mind to. Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim Pierson, Darrel Pierson and Shauna (Murray) Phillips; her grandchildren, Justin Phillips, Paige Phillips (Curtis) and Ashley Phillips. Ellen will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Paul Grayson, Gwen (Dale) Thomas, Janice (Brad) Vanbeers, and Judy (Dennis) Cameron; and her sisters-in-law, Sandra Grayson and Donna Loewen: as well as numerous family members and many wonderful friends. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Frank Loewen on March 23, 2012; her father, Bob Grayson (Tillie Grayson); her mother, Margaret Grayson; her brothers, John Grayson and Leonard Grayson; a sister-in-law, Anne Grayson and a brother-in-law, Allan Loewen. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Ellen’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Aides at the Tom Baker Cancer Institute, the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and the Red Deer Hospice; who gave such great care to her through her two year journey with cancer. If desired, Memorial Donations in Ellen’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca or to the Red Deer Hospice at www.reddeerhospice.com. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
