RICE, Ellen Mary – It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ellen Mary Rice (nee Barrett), who passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021, age 98 years. Predeceased by her husband John Charles, her partners William and Alice Barrett; siblings, Josephine Coady, Bridget St. John, Bernadette Oliver, Alice O’Neill, Anne Dunne, Madeline, William, Cyril and Bernard.
Leaving to mourn her children: Bernard Rice (Dolores), Anita O’Donnell (Jim), Alice Rice, Michele Noel (Nathaniel), Brian Rice; her grandchildren: Sean (Anna), Nicole (Josh), Allison (Lou), Glenn (Jillian), Nathaniel (Jade) and Nicholas; great-grandchildren: Olive, Audrey and Olivia; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Santhi Murthy and Dr. Susan Fagan for their care and assistance for our mother.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay Road, Torbay on Thursday, August 19, from 11-2pm and 5-9pm.
Funeral Mass to take place from Holy Trinity Parish on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00am with interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line. The service will be livestreamed.
