Ellen passed away peacefully and unexpectedly with her husband and daughters by her side.
Predeceased by her Mother (Marilyn), Father (George) and sisters (Barbara and Gina).
Ellen is survived by Husband, Rudy Laverdure, Step-Father Larry Lutz, Daughters Gail (Todd) Kendall & Amanda (Robert) Keene, Grandchildren Kristylynn (Argenis), Abby-Gail, Chloe, Maddie-Lynn, Edan & Alexis and great granddaughter Elena, Brothers Jim Bainas & Gord (Hydee) McMillan. Sister & Brother in laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Ellen was born and raised in Victoria B.C and met Rudy in 1970 in Victoria, they were married in 1974, they had two beautiful daughters together and have been blessed with 2 incredible sons in laws, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Ellen worked for the provincial government for nearly 40 years before retiring from Oak Bay Lodge in 2013. She adored all her grandchildren and loved watching them grow, she’d always tell them after every conversation “I love you to the moon and back”. They are truly what she lived for.
Ellen had a smile that would light up the room, she made friends everywhere she went, her heart was bigger than anyone could ever explain and she loved and was loved by everyone she met. Ellen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to all her kids, including all her bonus kids and grandkids. Ellen’s house was always the house everyone would gather at and she was always ready for them with coffee and goodies on the table, and if you came around dinner time there was always plenty to go around.
We as a family, would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Royal Inland Hospital, especially Dr. Kelly and the nurses on 5 south, for the incredible care and compassion you gave us in one of the worst moments of our lives.
A Celebration of life will be held for Ellen on Vancouver Island at a later time.
