Obituary of Ellaline (Marjorie) Smith
Ellaline Smith (October 6, 1923 – April 2, 2021)
Passed away peacefully at Pleasant View Manor, St. John’s, NL on Good Friday, April 2, 2021, (Marjorie) Ellaline Smith (nee Snow) in her 98th year, formerly of Manuels, Conception Bay South, and of Coley’s Point, Conception Bay, NL. Leaving to mourn daughter Sandra Shepherd, daughter Judi Smith, son Bill Smith (Joan), and daughter Rev. Margaret Fagan ( Rev.Darroch); also, ten wonderful grandchildren: Karen Shepherd-Carmichael (Darryl), Steven Shepherd, Nancy Shepherd-Bragg (Andrew), Matthew Hayman, Hughie Smith (Kristen), Timothy Smith (Karyn), Dr. Jennifer Smith-Hoffe (Geoffrey), Jonathan Smith (Shane), Selina Bath (Zachary), Joachim Fagan (Vanessa); seven beautiful great-grandchildren: Mia Shepherd-Turner, Helen Shepherd-Bragg, Vera Shepherd-Bragg, Ellaline Smith, Michael Hayman, Sophia Bath, and Emerson Bath. Ellaline is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a close circle of dear friends especially those in the Trefoil Guild, IODE, NL Retired Teachers Association, ACW (Foxtrap), St. Luke’s Auxiliary and others. Ellaline taught in Conception Bay South for almost 40 years and so also leaves to mourn numerous colleagues and students over the years. Visitation to take place on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 11:00 am to 3:00pm at Hickey’s Funeral Home, CBS by appointment only. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00am at All Saint’s Church, Foxtrap by invitation only due to pandemic restrictions. If you wish to attend, please call the family at 290- 9456 or 290-3371(Bill). Internment at All Saint’s Cemetery, Foxtrap.
