Obituary of Elizabeth Mendiola, California/New Waterford
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Mendiola in Milpitas, California on June 10, 2021 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Gizella Yuhasz, formerly of New Waterford.
After graduating from St. Agnes High, Elizabeth went on to St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Toronto where she obtained her R.N. She nursed for two years at the New Waterford Hospital and a short time in Brantford, ON. She then moved to San Francisco where she met and married Paul Mendiola. After Paul retired, they moved to Milpitas, California.
Elizabeth had a strong Catholic faith and deep love for Scripture and easily shared God’s word.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Paul; her brothers, Steve, Lou, Carl; sister, Madelene. Surviving are her sisters, Isabel Barrows, Brampton, ON, Margaret Berger and Mary Mason, New Waterford; sister-in-law, Florence Yuhasz, Brantford, ON. She is sadly missed by many special nieces, nephews and special friends, Eva Turner and Andy Wang, California.
