Elinor’s Obituary
O’Brien, Elinor Amanda – age 81 of West Branch, passed away June 7, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in West Branch, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Munroe and Bessie Marjorie (Baillie) Munroe. After raising her family, Elinor worked for the Palliser Motel in Truro and later as a homecare worker with VON. She was a member of the UCW at West Branch United Church for 30 years. She loved horses and had a large collection of model horses, having won awards for her collection. She was also a great fan of Elvis Presley. Elinor is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Marjorie (Bob), Thorburn; sons, Gordon (Barb), Truro; Wayne (Judy), Alberta; Kevin (Gladys), West Branch; grandchildren, Devin, Olivia, Demetria, Evangelinia, Justin (Leteasha) and Krystine; brother-in-law, Ralph O’Brien; sisters-in-law, Mary Campbell, Kathleen Frenette, Maggie Olsen and Annie Chandler; Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Munroe; sister, Jean Bigney. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter’s Funeral Home (902-657-3288), Tatamagouche. A private family service will be held. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
