Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.
Elinor Amalie Moreside was born on May 6, 1929 in Tuberose Red Cross Hospital to Henry and Marie Hollstein. She went to Coteau District School for 10 years, including 2 years of correspondence courses and completed school in Tuberose. In 1947 Mom went to Robertson Secretarial School in Saskatoon. While attending classes there she met Ann Larson who became a life long friend. On completion she worked three years at Pinder’s Drug Store and at Macdonald’s Consolidated.
She married Art Moreside in 1951 and returned to farm at Tuberose. Mom was an active member of the Tuberose Community Club and later an executive and member of the Kyle and District Museum. With a growing family she became very involved with the kids hockey and figure skating activities and spent many hours behind the steering wheel and in front of the sewing machine and decorating the skating rink.
In all this she still managed to find time for her craft projects, scrapbooking, ceramics and quilting. There was always fresh baking in our lunchboxes and her chocolate cake was the best!
Mom always loved being outdoors in the summer and the time spent at the cottage at Clearwater Lake and the time in her garden and flowerbeds were precious to her.
She truly loved her farming life but it wasn’t all hard work. She and Dad were able to enjoy many trips to Florida. Arizona, California and Mexico. They also saw Canada from Vancouver Island to Prince Edward Island and have all the photo albums to prove it!
Mom and Dad were great hockey fans and didn’t miss many games when the Kyle Elks were playing in town. They also enjoyed many quiet, or not so quiet, evenings socializing and playing cards with their friends.
She is survived by her son Wayne (Judy), and family Michael (Stacia), Melissa (Bryan) and Jeremy. Her daughter Marilyn (Ted) and family Adam (Sandra) and Matthew. Her son Bob and family Janis (Ryan), and Evan (Christine) and a wonderful mix of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Health Center. Their love and care of Mom over the past four years and especially the last few weeks have just left us without adequate words. They are a community treasure.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kyle Elks & Community Hall with Mr. Brian Watson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully appreciated to the Kyle and District Health Care Foundation Inc. Box 153 Kyle, Sk. S0L 1T0 or the Kyle Community Sports Center Box 27, Kyle, Sk. S0L 1TO
