Obituary of Elaine Margaret Humphry
Entered into rest at Maple View Lodge on Monday July 19, 2021; Elaine Margaret Humphry (nee Empey) age 83 years. Beloved wife of Edward (Ted) for 65 years. Dear mother of Sharon Doupe, Glenn Humphry (Barbara) and Valerie Beaudoin (Richard); and survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Elaine is predeceased by her parents Bertram & Eva Empey (nee Crites), son Steven (Linda) and grandson David.
Elaine was born on January 1, 1938 in Cornwall. Her parents moved to the Prescott area when she was a child; and after finishing school met her future husband Ted while working at RCA Victor. Elaine enjoyed time spent with family and friends, needlecrafts, working in her flowerbeds, and views of Charleston Lake from the deck of their home on Sand Bay. In her later years, she moved to Maple View Lodge in Athens where she received the care, love and support needed due to illness.
By request of Elaine, cremation will take place with a private family graveside service at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Maitland on Friday July 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
