Brandon, MB – Edmund Creary, formerly of Bathurst, NB went home to be with Jesus on January 23, 2021, at age 80.
Born in Fredericton, Ed was the son of the late Cyril and Kathleen (Fudge) Creary of Saint John, NB.
He grew up in the North End of Saint John, attending St. Malachy’s Memorial High School, and St. Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick where he studied education. He spent many years as a history teacher, department head, principal, and school board educator of teachers. His life changed during the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the 1970s where he gave his heart to Jesus and quickly began leading prayer meetings filled with worship, teaching, healing of the sick, and signs and wonders.
Ed’s true calling was as a teacher and pastor of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his love for Jesus was immeasurable.
He eventually became the founding pastor of the Bathurst Christian Fellowship, then a leader in the Winnipeg Vineyard Church, and finally the pastor of the Brandon Vineyard Community Church, retiring in 2020. His life was spent serving Jesus, deeply loving his family, and leading many souls to heaven.
Besides his loving wife, Lynn (Mainwaring) Creary, he is survived by three children: Brian (Shannon) Creary of Winnipeg, Cathy (Dean) Karayanis of New Jersey, and Greg (Sarah) Creary of Winnipeg. Four grandchildren, Samuel, Emily, Aidan and Norah-Lynn. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Buote of Quispamsis, NB.
Donations in memory of Ed can be made to the Bathurst Christian Fellowship church.
