Dorothy May Bennett Nicholson Friday August 27th 2021

BENNETT, Dorothy May (nee Nicholson) (1929 – 2021) – Our dear sweet mother passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Trent Valley Lodge Nursing Home, Trenton, age 92 years. She is reunited with her loving husband, the late Charles “Benny” Bennett. Loving and loved mother of Charles Bennett of Trenton and Jennifer (Lloyd) Peters of Bancroft. Adored grandmother of Natalie (Bill) Smith and Karina (Greg) Trolley. Doting “Gigi” of Benjamin, Lauren, Nolan and Gavin. Lovingly remembered by dear sister Joyce Beanland and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the youngest born to Robert and Margaret Nicholson on a small farm on St. Patrick Street in Montreal. We take comfort knowing they are lovingly reunited along with her siblings George, Eleanor, Jack and Roberta. Mom led an active life, making home wherever Dad was posted by the RCAF. Young at heart with a mischievous sense of humour, she enjoyed birds, walks, flowers, trees, travel and dancing with Benny. Dorothy was happiest spending time with family and old friends. We will always be grateful to have had her in our lives. Thank you Mum. We’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Trent Valley Lodge for all their compassion and care. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held at Carman Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Community Care, Brighton would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of the Brighton Funeral Home, (613-475-2121). To leave a condolence, please visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
