Dorothy Inglis Sunday December 5th 2021 avis de deces

With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Dorothy Inglis (nee Whaley), celebrating her 96th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Doug (1997) and her eldest son LeRoy (1965). She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Ben Nyholt), John (Linda Boomhouwer), Judith (James Finn), and Debra (Gary Balloch). She loved and cherished her many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
Mom was happiest once the snow melted to allow her to dig dirt, move plants and plant seeds for the next growing season. Her shelves in the storage area would be filled with the new yield of preserves by the time the frost threatened once again.
Mom loved to dance with Dad and their friends on a weekly basis. Then, after Dad passed, she joined a clogging group to step her way into fitness. The costumes were sewn by her, and she never fretted over the fancy details. Countless hours were also spent knitting sweaters for the grandchildren. Her hands were busy sewing and knitting with love in every stitch.
The hidden talent of painting with oils surprized us all. She had joined the art class while spending winters in Florida with Dad in the late 80’s, returning to Canada each spring with an art show of her own.
Dorothy and Doug loved to travel after his retirement. They ventured to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska on the international map and camped in all parts of southern Ontario most summers.
With reluctance at first, her home on Highside Drive was sold in 2019 and Mom moved into Seasons Retirement Community in Milton. This proved to be a wonderful time for her. We would like to thank the Seasons’ staff for helping make the transition easy and enjoyable for her. She developed many friendships in a very short time.
Mom’s life was well lived and loved by many. The family will receive friends at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, Milton, ON, Friday, December 10, 2021 from 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1 pm. Proof of double vaccination will be required for entry into the funeral home.
If desired, in leu of flowers, a donation to Milton District Hospital is appreciated by the family.
