Obituary of Doris Anne Clarke
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Anne Clarke (Watts) on October 1st, 2021 at the Labrador Grenfell Hospital in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Surrounded by the love of her family and friends, she passed away at the age of 71 following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Doris will be remembered for lighting up every room with her infectious smile and beautiful spirit. She cared deeply, lending kindness to all and lived for connection. She took pride in her family’s accomplishments, joy in her social gatherings and purpose in her community involvement. Despite her battle, Doris approached every day with strength, positivity and grace.
She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Francis; cherished children Jodi, Renee (Darren), Jonathan and grandchildren Annie, Matthew, Owen, Kiera; close siblings Evelyn, Ronald, Robert (Isobel), Rosmand, Marjorie; brother-in-laws Charley Clarke (Fronie), Arthur Clarke (Florence), Gord Brown, Mitch Morancy; sister-in-laws Jessie Toms, Cynthia Peckham (Ian), Brenda Brown (Frank), Florence Clarke; and a wide circle of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She is preceded by her mother Annie Watts (Baikie) and father John (Jack) Watts; siblings June (Len), Patricia; mother-in-law Minnie Clarke and father-in-law Allan Clarke; brother-in-laws Charlie Jubber, Normand Sullivan, Harry (Thelma) Clarke, Stedman Clarke, Phillip (Ethel) Clarke, Baxter Toms; sister-in-laws Beatrice Watts, Bell Brown, Rhona (John) Duggan, Marjorie Clarke, Helen Clarke.
We would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the medical and support staff of the Labrador Grenfell Hospital, and the steady stream of family and friends that filled Doris’s last days with love and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the North West River United Church on Wednesday, October 6th at 2:00PM for close family and friends. COVID rules apply including capacity restriction, masking requirement and social distancing between bubbles. For those who are unable to attend in person, viewing will be made available through Facebook livestream and recording.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada, who’s mission it is to find a cure while empowering those affected to live their best lives. We are eternally grateful for having had the best of Doris, a life that will live on in our hearts forevermore.
