Passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Brantford, Ontario on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, age 83 years. Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Louis Cormier; her 3 sisters: Aline, Rachel, Fleurette and 1 brother Ghislain. Loving mother of Daniel (Joy), Michelle (Steven), Louis (Laurie), Dale, and Paul (Courtney). Doris is predeceased by her parents Lucien Beland and Gilberte Lefrancois, her eldest sister Lucy and son Gilles. She leaves to mourn her 14 grandchildren: April, Ann, Mike, Paul, Richard, Claude, Lori, Jerrica, Chase, Mia, Dale Jr., Nicole, Christian and Josh. Doris was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She was known for her passion of knitting, so many have been able to enjoy her wonderful creative gifts, mainly her legendary slippers. Doris was also a very devoted Bingo player, her children would always call and jokingly ask if their Mom was at work, AKA Bingo. Always promising grand rewards or gifts if she won big. Hopefully Doris is knitting slippers for all the Angels in Heaven and playing Bingo to her heart’s content!!! Love you Mom!
Relatives and friends may attend a visitation at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 9 – 11 am. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am. Following the Chapel Service there will be a burial of cremated remains in the Sacré Coeur Catholic Cemetery. Masks and physical distancing are required. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
