Obituary
The death of Donald John Richardson, husband of the late Irene G. (Bennett) Richardson, occurred on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John in 1925, he was the son of the late John and Marguerite (Hogan) Richardson.
Donald was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Boys High School and during WWII he served with the Canadian Navy on board the HMCS Chilliwack and the HMCS Stormont. In 1961, Donald graduated from Williams School of Banking and was Vice President of the National Bank of Haverhill, Mass. He was a member of the American Bankers Association and a member of the American Bankers Association Marketing Division. Donald was also employed with Social Services as a Social Services Administrator and was a former member of St. Joachim’s Church.
Donald is survived by his children Michael Richardson of Boston, Mass., Deborah Richardson of Haverhill, Mass., John Richardson (Randi) of New York State, Gary Richardson of Saint John and Karen Martin of Saint John; his long-time friend Jean Gallant; his brothers William Richardson (Florence) of Petawawa, ON, Robert Richardson (Abbie) of Valrico, FL.; granddaughters Melissa Abruzzi (Ben) and Irena; great grandsons Gunner and Casey; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents and wife, Donald was predeceased by his brother Derald and sister Jean.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., following this, the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.
