BELCASTRO, Domenic (Meco) – passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Anita Belcastro for 68 years. Loving father of Marie (Pinky) Blacklock (Robert Blacklock), Joe, John (Tania) and Victor (Lynn). Cherished grandfather of Robbie, Aaron, Caitlin (Kevin) and David (Alexsandria) and great-grandfather to Lindsay and Jack. Loved brother of Mary Lustri (Albert, deceased), John Belcastro (Meg), Victor Belcastro (Lori) and brother-in-law of Hilda Belcastro, Tony Duzel and Mary Toneguzzi (Silvio, deceased). Meco was predeceased by his parents Angelina and Joe Belcastro, siblings Rose Miljevic (Jim), James (Babe) (Patricia), Sam (Grace), Joe (Cheach), Linda Duzel, Baby Margaret and brother-in-law John Toneguzzi. Meco worked at the Atlas Steels for 35 years. He was an avid bowler, a member of the Knights of Columbus and counsellor for Youth Squires. Meco’s long-life passion was fixing bicycles for the community. He was known as “the bicycle man”. He loved sitting on the veranda surrounded by family and friends and good conversation. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Niagara Health Foundation – Welland Hospital.
