Obituary
Peacefully surrounded by family, Derek John Holme passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. Derek was born in Bolton, Lancaster, England on September 9, 1934. Son of the late John and Vera Holme. He was a lifetime employee at GE where he was a draftsman. His passions throughout the years included golf, bowling, curling, English soccer (Bolton Warriors) and basketball. He was a lifetime member at Kawartha Golf and Country Club and longtime member of Grace United Church. Derek was a kind, gentle and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He walked hand and hand with his wife Audrey (nee Patterson) for 61 years. Derek was the proud father to Carol, David and wife Lynne, and Cathy, and amazingly devoted grandfather to Jake (Alex), Josh (Amber) and Jayd Killingbeck, Madison, Claire, Max and Ryder Curvin, great grandfather to Krew and Kohl Killingbeck.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road. Masks/face coverings are mandatory. A private service of remembrance and interment at Little Lake Cemetery will be held. In memory of Derek, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society – Prostate Cancer Research, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or Grace United Church would be greatly appreciated.
