Obituary
Blue Thunderbird Woman
“Ozhaawashko-Binesikwe”
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and relative to many.
Denise was born June 1st, 1960 in Keeseekoowenin First Nation. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Amber Pierre-Flett, Destiny (Shannon) Houle, Justin (Annie) Houle, Farrah Houle and Sean Houle; her siblings Patsy (Antony Bear) Flett, Bruce (Christine) Flett, Jackie Flett and Ric Flett; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Denise is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Bruce Flett; her grandparents Suzette and Mackay Flett; her brother Arly and sister Sara Vaan Laar.
Denise acquired the nickname “Neecie” from her father, Bruce. She is remembered as a very friendly individual who always had a smile and a jovial laugh for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading her Bible which gave her strength. She cherished listening to the Sunday afternoon gospel hour. Denise enjoyed singing and often times joined Karaoke during her leisure-time. In fact, she won over her sister Pat at one event. She enjoyed cooking, especially her favorite, homemade soup and Bannock. Denise was a private person, but she always reached out to her siblings in time of need. Last but not least, she was an advocate for Cathy, always being there for her. She felt a genuine love for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Denise will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
