The family announces with great sorrow his peaceful passing surrounded by family in the early morning of Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at the age of 77, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his 4 sons, Ritchie of Sudbury, Darcy (Nathalie) of Timmins, Jude (Anne) of Cambridge and Joel (Lynn) of Cambridge. Predeceased by his parents Emile Caron (1997) and Joan Caron (Mahoney) (1986). Also left to mourn, the mother of his children Sylvia Barrette (Mark), his sisters Diane Bourbonnais, (late Yvon 2019) Orleans, Anne Marie Caron (late Warren Woods 2021) of Ottawa and Carolyn Caron of Timmins, and his brothers Paul Caron (Diane) of Timmins, John Caron (Lois) of Timmins and Raymond (Inger) Caron of Nerja, Spain.
Loving grandfather of Micah and Lucas (mother Mary Milicevic), Patrick, Philippe, Ava, Hannah, Ella, Kyle and Lauryn. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Denis spent his life in the mining industry as a draftsman geologist working at several local mines. He also worked as a line cutter and prospector in the region. During his school years at Sacre Coeur, he was very prominent in basketball and track and field. Denis loved the outdoors and was also known to trek in the woods for long periods of time and was a true environmentalist. He also enjoyed building his log home as well as several others. Denis loved reading and was very knowledgeable. Denis was a gentle, kind, loving man and will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Spruce Hill Lodge, Rainbow Suites, TADH and St Mary’s Gardens for the excellent care, compassion and friendship.
Cremation will take place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
Denis’s wishes were to communicate that early cancer detection is key. A celebration of life will be held this summer on his birthday Sunday July 17th, 2022. In his memory, the family would appreciate if you could donate to the Timmins Food Bank or The Porcupine Food Bank during the holiday season.
