David Matthew Courchesne Sunday June 20th 2021 avis de deces

David Matthew Courchesne was born April 19th, 1963 and went Home on Father’s Day, June 20th, 2021. Dave Courchesne was one of a kind. He was a lover of knowledge and the bush, of fireworks and making people laugh, of Coin Lake and a beautiful paint job, of fishing and storytelling, of puzzles and hot wings, lottery tickets and CBC radio, of snowballs and water balloons, gift giving and good hair, of Q92, fresh blueberries and his famous spaghetti sauce that we all tried so hard to like (those bay leaves though). Dave was a character and every single person who met him, remembered him. He never spoke ill of those he loved (unless they crossed him during a game of Risk) and loved his family, understanding
deeply the value of time well spent and offering grace in difficult times. Testament to the love Dave offered are the many people who will remember him with a smile and gratitude in their hearts. Dave was predeceased by his beloved parents Murielle and Fern Courchesne and brother Gary Courchesne. He will be remembered by his beautiful sister Patricia Audia and loved brother Clayton Courchesne.
Dave shared his life with his beloved Lois Apaquash who is grateful for their time together. They worked hard to raise children together, made Christmas sparkle together, lived in Australia for a glorious while, shared many road trips and saunas at the camp in Westree, family celebrations, births of Grandchildren and please forgive me cards. Dave was a loving force in the lives of his beloved children for almost thirty years. Kerry Gartshore (Darryl), Sarah Gartshore (Mike), Luke Gartshore (Valerie), Jessie Gartshore Adriao (Jason) and Andrew Gartshore. They are grateful for his lessons of unconditional love, forgiveness and unity. Dave was Grandpa and Papa to the loves of his life and pride and joy… his Grandchildren. Jesse Hamilton (Shelby), Jacob Hamilton, Kaelan Hamilton (Alivia), Riley Hurdle (Sarah and Finn), Bradley Blackburn (Caitlin), Noah Blackburn (Kate), Harloe Bardeggia, Brook Gartshore,
Abigail Gartshore, Tyson Gartshore, William Gartshore, Alannah Gartshore, Sadie Adriao, Ella Adriao, Madeline Adriao, Samuel Gartshore, Caleb Gartshore, Sarah Gartshore, Emma Gartshore, Izeline Gartshore and Arlo Gartshore. Dave shone as a Grandpa and was a hero to them all. He would spin the tallest, most elaborate and imaginative tales for them as they sat around him, rapt with attention, listening to his magical and long, very very long, stories. Dave will be remembered with joy and delight and be loved by his Grandchildren forever. Dave is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews LeeAnne Audia, Bethany Thompson (Kevin), Karen Audia, Melanie Courchesne, Eric Courchesne (Sooki), Alex Courchesne, Stephanie Berthier (Zach), Kelly Courchesne, Kacee Courchesne, Brian North (Tammy), Nation North, Victrey North, Silas North, Jubilee North, Hope North and Forrest North. Dave’s work family showed him much love in his last year and he showed that love back by setting up dinners he prepared for them at the worksite. His buds Rolly, Phil, Shawn, Chris, John, Kysar, Luke and Brian held a special place in Dave’s heart and will remember him fondly. There are many more people whose lives Dave touched and who showed Dave kindness, adventure, friendship or a listening ear and we send our gratitude and love to you all. Due to covid regulations Dave’s celebration of life will include immediate family only. The gathering will be small but loud with many explosions, which Dave would appreciate. As
requested, the OG Grandchildren who Dave helped raise into men, Jesse, Bradley, Jacob, Noah and Kaelan, will hold a special ceremony for their Grandpa in Westree. If you love Dave, please, raise a glass, picture him smiling in his black leather vest, and know that he loves you too. Cheers! Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
