David Franklyn Gertridge
1937-2021
David Franklyn Gertridge – 83, of Forest Hill,
passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Victoria General
Hospital, Halifax, NS with his family by his side. Born in Wolfville,
he was a son of the late Starr and Hilda (Schofield) Gertridge. David
worked for Acadia Dairy as a milk man for a number of years, prior to
working for Canvin and retiring from Topline Venture as a carpenter.
David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion (Schofield);
children, Paul (Wendie) and Faye; sister, Fern Eye; grandsons, Robert
(Rebecca) Parks and Brenton Bernard; and great-grandchildren, Jesse
and Abigail. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by
brothers, Garth, Blaine, Murray, Ross and Wilfred; and sisters, Faye
Stirling and Bonnie Wheaton. There will be no visitation. A funeral
service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at
Forest Hill Baptist Church, Forest Hill, Reverend Gary Manthorne
officiating. COVID-19 health regulations and physical distancing will
be followed; masks are recommended and please bring your own chair.
Interment will follow in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Gaspereau. Donations
in memory may be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
