Obituary of Darlene Lillian Spilman
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Darlene Lillian Spilman of (Marysville) Fredericton , NB , wife of the late George Stanley Spilman, occurred on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 31, 1941 in Fredericton , NB. She was the daughter of late Edger and Thelma (Saunders) Hamilton. Darlene worked as communications clerk for the Victoria Public Hospital and Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for 40 years, until her retirement. She provided childcare for countless children over the years and prepared sandwiches for the homeless weekly. Darlene was an avid baker and shopper. She was a devoted member of Marysville Baptist Church . Darlene’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She especially loved joining them on family vacations.
Darlene is survived by daughter, Susan Williams (Barrie) of Fredericton; sons, Michael Spilman (Jacqui) of Halifax, Bradley Spilman (Deborah) of Fredericton, Christopher Spilman (Susan) of Halifax; grandchildren, Tara (Kirby), Lindsay (Greg), Travis (Katelyn), Nicholas (Jane), Daniel, Jonathan, Caroline, Joshua, Jessica, Caleb, Elyssa, Josie and Cooper; great-grandchildren, Jaydon, Alaina, Chandler, Kayleigh, Camden, Julie, Theodore, Wesley, Elliot, and Sunny; Sisters, Barbara Young (Walter) of Fredericton, Linda Aucoin of Fredericton, Linda Brown (Paul) of Fredericton; brother, Steve Clements (Heather) of New Maryland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
We would like to thank the staff of 4NW, especially Katelynn & Debbie for the care, along with Dr. Barry.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive , on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Marysville Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11 am with Rev. Jason Hinsdale and Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. (Vaccinations and Masks are Required at all Services). Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery .
