Peacefully with his daughters by his side, Darell rejoined his beloved wife Lynne (née Summerbell) who predeceased him in 2015.
Darell was the dearly loved father of Allison (Don) and Virginia. He was the beyond proud grandad of Fiona and Tessa. He was the cherished brother of Carol (James), Holly (John) and Leslie (Jeff). Respected uncle to many.
Pre-deceased by his parents Darell and Fern Small.
Darell was many things: a math teacher, a skier, a golfer, a curler, a loyal friend, and a consumer of fine scotch, but his favourite role was that of husband, Dad and Grandad.
Dad has always said the happiest day of his life was the day he married the love of his life, Lynne. To know the two of them together was to know the meaning of true and unconditional love. He was a proud supporter of all of his daughters’ pursuits whether they were orchestral, athletic or academic in nature. His granddaughters elicited a whole new level of love and had him wrapped around their little fingers from the moment they were born.
Visitation will be at Tubman’s Funeral Home – Garden Chapel on July 20, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral to be held July 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St Paul’s Anglican Church 20 Young Rd, Kanata. Due to current COVID restrictions pre-registration is required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or to Muskoka Seniors would be appreciated by the family.
