Obituary for
Colleen May Ohlman (nee Bailey)
On Monday March 1, 2021, Colleen Ohlman passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 76 years. Colleen is survived by her sons, Leonard (Donna) Ohlman, Jim Ohlman (Lateen Clarke) and Darren (Angie) Schihl; grandchildren, Kayla (Kevin) Ransom, Alicia Ohlman, Allison Schihl (Jake Graham) and Brooke Schihl (Kyle Pinder); great- grandchildren, Kallie and Katie. Colleen was predeceased by her loving husbands, Walter Ohlman in 1978 and later Bob Schihl in 2001.
Colleen often said she was shy and backwards growing up and that it was Walter who brought her out of her shell. He often told her you must love yourself before you can love others. Determined, tough and stubborn, traits she often said she inherited from being a Bailey, Colleen never wanted to rely on others for help and was very proud when she could do something herself rather than ask for help. Colleen was always concerned for and cared about everyone from her own immediate family to those in her apartment building at Marlan Towers. She often put the needs of others ahead of her own needs and for that she will forever be missed by everyone who knew her.
In keeping with Colleen’s wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation will take place followed by a private family inurnment in Bayview Cemetery at a later date.
