Clinton « Dickie »‘s Obituary
NICKERSON, Clinton “Dickie” Fremont – 83, of Baccaro, passed away October 27, 2021, at home, with his wife by his side. Dickie was born October 28, 1937 on The Hawk. He was the son of the late Clinton and Avis (Crowell) Nickerson. Dickie was always a very hard worker. In the early 60s, Dickie moved his young family to Ontario to gain employment. He was employed by Bundy Tubing. In the late 70s, Maxine and Dickie moved back to Nova Scotia where they built a new home in Baccaro. Dickie began lobstering and hand lining on his boat the ‘Janet Rose’ for the next decade. Dickie enjoyed ‘hanging out’ in his beloved building. He always had a fresh cup of coffee brewing and a fire in the wood stove in the winter for those friends and family who frequently visited. You could often find 7 men crammed into the building, solving and discussing ‘world problems’. Up until several months ago, Dickie faithfully went to his building several times a day. Dickie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maxine (Christie) of Baccaro; sons, Sidney (Andrea), Barrington; Dean (Louise), Brampton, Ontario. He was the very proud ‘poppa’ to Chad (Kaitlin), Liverpool; Katie (Andrew), Barrington; Jared (Nerissa), Barrington; Clint, Ontario; Dean (Melanie), Alberta. Dickie was also a very proud great-grandfather (poppa, poppa) to Liam, Logan, Jayla, Benjamin, Avah, Peyton, and Morgan. He is also survived by sister, Judy; brothers, Frederick and Robbie; also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret. There will be a visitation held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, where the funeral service will follow, Tuesday, November 2, at 2p.m. with Pastor Dan Dunnett officiating. Due to Covid 19 restrictions proof of vaccination will be required to attend the visitation and service. Interment will be in the Woodside Cemetery “The Ponds”, Port La Tour.
