GODIN, Claude – Age 80 of Saulnierville, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Trois-Rivières, Qué., he was a son of the late Pierre and Georgette (Therrien) Godin.
Claude lived in Clare since 1980 and was well known in the area as the owner and operator of Atelier de Poterie et Cuir “Potery & Leather Shop.” He was a member of the Clare Golf & Country Club for the past 20 years. Claude always enjoyed traveling around the world, both prior to and after meeting his wife, Dianne. Together, they made numerous trips in the past 40 years, mostly during the winter months.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne, Saulnierville; daughter, Nathalie (Martin) Godin, Montreal; sister, Louise Godin, Frelighsburg, Qué.; nieces, Anabel and Maïa; several cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his sister-in-law, Lucille; and brothers-in-law, Jean-Pierre, Marcel, Bruno, Réjean, Paul.
He was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Léo and Claude.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic provincial restrictions, a private funeral mass will be held in Église Sacré-Coeur, Saulnierville, officiated by Rev. Hospice Akoffodji. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Église Sacré-Coeur.
