Claredon’s Obituary
NICKERSON, Claredon Leigh – 76, of Centreville, Cape Sable Island, NS, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2021 at the Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born May 13, 1944 in Clark’s Harbour, NS, he was the oldest son the late Claredon S. and H. Viella (Blades) Nickerson. Along with his brother, Thomas, he worked for and co-owned the family business, Claredon S. Nickerson Limited in Clark’s Harbour. Later he opened his own business, processing fish product, which he operated until his retirement. When he retired he was able to enjoy bird and deer watching. Hummingbirds were a favourite. Baseball was another pleasure. He especially followed the Toronto Blue Jays. Stays at the family camp at Goose Lake were a favourite summer activity. Claredon was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and loved his family greatly. He is survived by his wife, Frances; sons, Uriah (Christine), Alberta; Stacey (Jenn Messenger), Clark’s Harbour; grandchildren, Morgan (Demiah Symonds), Clark’s Harbour; Daniel and Kahlan, Alberta; and Chandler, East Pubnico; sisters, Hattie, Halifax; Claire, North East Point; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas; and nephew, Danny. Arrangements have been entrusted to H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. There will be a family graveside at a later date. The family would like to take this time to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Roseway Hospital.
