Obituary of Christopher George McAuley
Christopher George McAuley was born in September, 1962 in Cumberland House, SK to Margaret and Bert McAuley. He was the second-born of four children.
From an early age, Chris worked on his parents’ farm, operating farm machinery, making hay, and tending to the livestock. At the young age of 18, Chris got a job at Key Lake and made a name for himself. He worked multiple positions; he was a Heavy Duty Operator, a Heavy Duty Mechanic, a Mill Helper, even a warehouse worker. He made many good lifelong friends working these jobs, many of whom he remained close with for the duration of his life.
Chris was a true outdoorsman. He loved being out in the wilderness. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and he loved going trapping with his close friend Dennis Pelly. He also worked as a guide during his holidays and made a lot of friends this way. Chris had a lot of « toys » in his life; he always had to have the fastest skidoo, he had many boats and motors, and multiple vehicles. At one point he even owned the fastest sportscar. Chris loved his « toys ».
Chris also loved music. When he blasted his speakers, the whole block could hear it. He enjoyed playing the guitar and he loved to sing as well.
Chris met the love of his life, Carol Fosseneuve, in July of 1983. Chris and Carol were blessed with 3 children: Brianna, Keifer, and Skylar (Christa) McAuley.
Throughout his life he remained close friends with his little crew, which includes Barney Thomas, Bernie Kadachuk, Earl (Sonnyman) Crane, Edward and Darryl Cook, Dave Derfler, James (Porch) Cook, Mike & Lana Ross, Dennis & Marilyn Pelly, Harold & Philip Fosseneuve, David & Shelly Constant, Vern & Elaine Campbell.
The last years of his life were spent in Saskatoon, close to his doctors, living with his sister Debby who was his primary caretaker. He enjoyed home cooked meals, prepared by his son Keifer, and he spent his days arguing with Debby’s 4 little dogs, causing those around him to giggle.
Chris was predeceased by his father Bert (Charles) McAuley; his mother Margaret McAuley (nee Cook); paternal grandparents George and Rosalie McAuley; maternal grandparents Walter Cook and Mabel Anderson; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; special cousin Randy McAuley; and his good friend Angus Deschambeault.
He is survived by his 4 children Brianna McAuley (Colin), Keifer McAuley, Skylar McAuley (Brent), and Kriss Deschambeault (Kayli); brother Walter McAuley; sisters Debby McAuley and Mary McAuley (Brian); grandson Khalen Deschambeault; numerous nieces and nephews.
