Obituary of Christina Doris MacLean
MacLEAN – Christina (nee Murray)
In her 94th year, Tena passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 11, 2021 at Brantford General Hospital. She is survived by son Doug (Donna) and grandchildren Kelly (Jay) and Kevin (Meghan) and the light of her life, great-daughter Maia. In the last two weeks, she had visits from all and talked non stop about them and the tea party she had with Maia during one visit. Tena was born in Glencoe, New Brunswick to Alphonsine Gervais and Lawrence Murray, one of 13 children. She eventually settled in St George, Ontario near her son and grandchildren. Her retirement was filled with family and friends. An avid golfer, she spent many days on the golf course and was a Lifetime Member of the Dundas Valley Golf Club. Bridge and bowling were other passions of Tena’s. Tena is predeceased by brothers Simon (Wanda), Paul, Len (Marg), John (Marie) , George (Jean), and sisters Mamie (Calvin Dunn), Esther (Barry Jenkins), Glenda (Jim Grimes) and by husband Jim (2017). Also survived by siblings Grace (Glen Macey) of BC, Betty (Tom Doyle) , Lawrence JR (Amanda), and Bryce (Laura), all of NB. Many thanks to Dr. Lee Anne Coren of Hamilton, the staff of Chartwell Tranquility Place in Brantford, Stedman Hospice and the Palliative Ward at BGH for the excellent care they all provided. Tena requested no service or viewing and she will be cremated and interred later at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris at a private family time. Donations to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
