Doug (80) passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, with his family by his side, after a brief illness.
Doug was born in Port Alberni BC way back in 41′. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1961, travelled the world and retired 31 years later. Post Military service he opened his own music store, CD’s CDs’ and Other Joys. After closing up shop some 8 years later he kept himself busy with all the treasures he had collected over the years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his life-long friend, Diane Rasmussen; children and step-children, Cindy, Stacey (Cyndie), Shelley (Mike), Amanda, Kim (Randy) and Eric (Leah); 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild as well as his niece, Carolyn and nephews, Chris and Cam.
At Doug’s request, no formal service will be held. Condolences to the family may be offered below.
